Presentation and workshop with Jane Milburn in Augusta.
Jane Milburn gave her all during a visit to Augusta speaking at our
local Community Resource Centre on the evening of the Thursday 26th October and conducting an all day workshop Friday at the Uniting Church. Her commitment to changing our perspective on fashion, waste and cheap clothing was expressed through her research, statistics and an array of creative up-cycled clothing.
She spoke of the nurturing effects of sewing, creating our own story with clothes by
adapting combining and turning items upside down to see what is possible. Her commitment and concern for our environment challenged us and gave us much
to think about.
At the workshop in the Uniting Church a group of 12 women experienced the satisfaction of refashioning garments they brought with them or purchased from Red Cross on the day!
Creative Recycling and the Uniting Church were privileged to promote and co-ordinate these events.
